A traditional herbal tincture combining three ingredients that have been used for centuries in folk medicine for digestive support: black walnut hull, wormwood, and cloves.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Place the black walnut hulls, wormwood, and cloves in a clean quart jar.
  2. Pour the vodka (or glycerin) over the herbs, making sure they're fully submerged. Stir to release any air bubbles.
  3. Seal tightly. Label with the date and contents.
  4. Store in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks. Shake the jar every few days.
  5. After 4-6 weeks, strain through cheesecloth layered over a fine-mesh strainer. Squeeze out all the liquid.
  6. Pour into dark glass dropper bottles. Label with the date.
  7. *Suggested use:** Start with 10-15 drops in a small glass of water, once daily before a meal. Work up gradually over a week to 30 drops. Use for 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
