Yield: 120 ml (½ cup) Time: 5 minutes active + 4-6 weeks aging
Time: 5 minutes active + 4-6 weeks aging · Yield: 120 ml (½ cup)
Ingredients
- ●3 Tbsp dried culinary lavender buds (make sure it's food-grade, not potpourri)
- ●120 ml (½ cup) 80-proof vodka
Method
- Place the lavender buds in a clean glass jar. Pour the vodka over them and seal.
- Store in a cool, dark place. Shake every few days.
- Start tasting after 3 weeks. Lavender can become overpowering — strain and bottle when the flavor is strong but not soapy (usually 4-6 weeks).
- *Storage:** Room temperature for up to 2 years.
- *Use with a light hand.** Lavender extract is potent — ¼ to ½ teaspoon is usually plenty for a batch of cookies or a cake.
