Magnesium Sleep Gummies
A bedtime gummy designed to support relaxation and restful sleep. Magnesium glycinate is the preferred form here — it's gentle on the stomach and well-absorbed.
Time: 15 minutes active, 1 hour to set · Yield: About 40 small gummies
Ingredients
- ●3/4 cup tart cherry juice (tart cherries are a natural source of melatonin)
- ●3 tablespoons grass-fed gelatin powder
- ●1 teaspoon magnesium glycinate powder (about 200mg elemental magnesium — check your product's serving size)
- ●1 tablespoon raw honey
- ●1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ●Optional: 1/4 teaspoon lavender extract or 1 drop food-grade lavender essential oil
Method
- Pour half the cherry juice into a saucepan. Sprinkle gelatin over the surface. Bloom for 5 minutes.
- Warm gently over low heat until gelatin dissolves.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the remaining cherry juice, magnesium powder, honey, vanilla, and lavender (if using).
- Pour into silicone molds. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Pop from molds and store in the fridge.
- *Suggested use:** 2-3 gummies 30 minutes before bedtime.
Note: Tart cherry juice (Montmorency cherries) contains natural melatonin and anthocyanins. It's one of the few food sources of melatonin. Magnesium glycinate is preferred over magnesium citrate for nighttime use — citrate can have a laxative effect at higher doses. Glycinate is gentle and calming. These have a beautiful deep red color and a tart-sweet flavor that's genuinely enjoyable. Don't exceed the recommended serving — magnesium in excess can cause digestive discomfort.
