Time: 5 minutes active + 6 weeks aging · Yield: 120 ml (½ cup)
Ingredients
- ●40 g (1 packed cup) fresh peppermint leaves, washed and bruised
- ●120 ml (½ cup) 80-proof vodka
Method
- Place the bruised mint leaves in a clean glass jar. (Bruising releases the essential oils — just crush them gently in your hands.)
- Pour the vodka over the leaves, making sure they're fully submerged. Seal tightly.
- Store in a cool, dark place. Shake every few days.
- After 4-6 weeks, strain through a fine-mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth into a clean bottle. Squeeze the leaves to extract every drop of flavor.
- *Storage:** Room temperature for up to 2 years.
